Why Organic Dog Shampoo?

Many shampoos contain harsh detergents that actually strip all of the coat’s oil, leaving a fluffy looking coat. Other shampoos that claim to be “moisturizing” may contain chemical additives which create retention of moisture. Those chemicals are also skin irritants and can cause liver and kidney damage. You should stay away from using any shampoo containing artificial dyes and fragrances and all artificial color and flavors, as they may contain tar, which is known as a human carcinogen.

What Great About My Shampoo

Many “tearless” shampoos use chemicals to counter-act and reduce irritation caused by other chemical ingredients. Ultimately you simply want a shampoo that gently cleans the coat naturally, with organic ingredients like essential oils. They nourish the dog’s coat, leaving it clean and shiny and come in wonderful varieties of scents, such as lavender, tea tree, lemon grass, etc. Shampoos containing essential oil of rosemary and help prevent dandruff and dry skin. Lemon grass is an insect and flea repellant, and lavender calms and soothes the skin.

Why I don’t use oatmeal in our shampoos: Because some animals have problems with grains, and they are likely to have problems with oatmeal shampoos.
